Manchester City's Fabian Delph banned for Carabao Cup final after red card

Fabian Delph will be suspended for Manchester City's Carabao Cup final against Arsenal after picking up a red card as his side crashed out of the FA Cup on Monday.
Delph was sent off after his reckless sliding challenge caught Wigan's Max Power just before half-time of City's 1-0 defeat in the FA Cup fifth round.
Referee Anthony Taylor initially brought out a yellow card but then showed red after protests from Wigan and a conversation with the fourth official.
After playing often in the first half the season, Delph was appearing in only his fourth game of 2018. He suffered a knee injury in mid-January and only returned in last week's Champions League trip to Basel.
The suspension will carry at least an automatic three-match ban in domestic competitions. Barring an appeal, Delph will miss two games against Arsenal Sunday's Carabao Cup final and the Premier League clash the following Thursday and the March 4 league game against Chelsea.
