Cristiano Ronaldo helped
launch the new Nike Mercurial football boots with a special Instagram live
broadcast on Wednesday In an event attended by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Neymar, Alexis Sanchez, Eden
Hazard and Marcus Rashford all attended the event in London.
The Real Madrid star
was unable to make the event in London, which celebrated Mercurial's 20th
annivesary, but did his best from his home in Spain.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Neymar, Alexis Sanchez, Eden Hazard and Marcus
Rashford did however make it to the shindig in England's capital.
"Hi
guys, I'm so excited today. I got something very special to show you,"
starts Ronaldo before explaining that he first began playing with the Mercurial
range at the age of 16.
"As you know, I'm a mercurial player. Today is the
launch of the new mercurial boots.
"The new mercurial. Wow. I've never seen something
like that before."
After unveiling his latest gift, Ronaldo then
explains that he has the names of his sons and daughter on both the right and
left boots.
The Mercurial was first unveiled in 1998,
with Ronaldo the poster boy during his time as football's greatest star.
He then became the first Nike star to have his
own personalised version of the boot, with the R9's that he wore at the 1998
World Cup in France, when he led Brazil's charge to the final - before defeat
to the hosts.
In December, Nike launched a new version -
partially in tribute to Ronaldo - with the 'Mercurial Puro Fenomeno' boots,
worn by £200million superstar Neymar.
